Do freelancers need to charge tax?
It depends on your country and turnover. In the US you usually don't charge sales tax on services. In India, you charge GST once you cross ₹20 lakh (₹10 lakh in special-category states). In the UK, VAT applies once you cross £90k.
What payment terms should I use?
Net 7 or Net 14 for small clients; Net 30 for enterprises. Always state late-fee terms.
